Better Selection These Days For Mother of the Bride Outfits
When a friend’s daughter told her mother that she was going to get married, the first thing that my friend said was,
“What am I going to wear?” This may seem like an odd statement, but mother of the bride outfits are not typically well-known for attractiveness.
Moms can take heart in knowing that things are changing in the face of formal wear for mothers.
Women who shop for mother of the bride outfits might feel a little overwhelmed with the shimmer, sequins and downright
unflattering attire that is out there. On the other hand, mother of the bride dresses shouldn’t be too “young” and flirty, either. Since my
friend is a relatively young mom, she was caught between what she wanted to wear and what she thought that she should wear. Fortunately, her
daughter is a really hip chick who knows the ins and outs of current fashion. The bride-to-be works as a buyer for a small fashion company that
deals with formal wear for proms and weddings on a regular basis. Having an inside perspective on the different options in mother of the bride
outfits was a real bonus.
We initially started shopping over a bottle of wine and some catalogues and
bridal magazines. This led nowhere. We were really surprised that few mother of the bride outfits were featured in these places. The ones that
were featured weren’t all that great and the whole prospect looked a little bleak. So, my friend announced that she wanted to wear a sharp halter
number that was bright red with a rhinestone accent in the middle of the top. This striking formal dress would be beautiful on her, but we also
had to consider what would be proper for her to wear as well. Mother of the bride outfits are usually a lot more conservative.
We also considered the notion of having two mother of the bride outfits for the occasion. One would be worn during the
ceremony and the other would be worn at the reception. This Kat Cruz approach to wedding attire seemed like a great solution,
especially after the first bottle of wine. But, before the Zinfandel overtook us, the bride-to-be arrived with a number of different options
for her mom to consider. These mother of the bride outfits were so striking that I wanted one for myself. It was great to know that there are a
lot of different looks and styles that suit moms of all ages for this very special event.
Bottom line: When it comes to mother of the bride outfits, look around. The selection is growing and with a little effort
you should be able to find an outfit that fits both style and appropriateness considerations. If possible, try not to rule out the used
markets. Some other mother of the bride may have already done the leg work for you ...
